Digital Stone ProjectDigital Stone Project NJ USA made this incredible project: Pediment for the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, Nashville, TN, USA The artist is Ray Kaskey. The model was a 1/3 scale plaster. The total length of the sculpture is 60 feet (18 meter). Material is Indiana Limestone. 95 % or more was done on a 5 axis CNC machine using extensive 3+2 milling with Scantech's CARSO/Gold CAD/CAM. The project took 8 month to complete - including manual finishing!
Plaster models in 1/3 scale was scanned with Scantechs TwoCam 3D laser scanner mounted on the 5-axis CNC machine.
